Serving up breakfast, lunch and delicate desserts
After much anticipation, much-lauded pastry chef Antonio Bachour has opened up his namesake bakery, Bachour, in Coral Gables today at 2020 Salzedo.
The restaurant, which is open for breakfast, lunch, and weekend brunch, offers spruced up versions of classic dishes. For breakfast think a full-line of viennoiserie, together with egg-based dishes, granola, fruit bowls, and tartines. For lunch items like sandwiches and salads, and entrees such as steak and snapper en papillote can be found, while on the brunch both breakfast and lunch items will be offered along with dishes like club sandwich and the “pastelito de guayaba” pancakes. A full bakery is also on hand with ten different types of macarons, Bachour’s signature intricate sweets, along with classics like red velvet cake and key lime pie.
The 5,000-square-foot is eatery housed in aptly named 2020 Salzedo, a mixed-use building, and can seat 75 guests inside. It boasts a industrial feel with display cases covering most of the pastry and take out section, while a glass walled preparation kitchen will allow guests to see the chefs at work. Outside, the courtyard adjacent to the restaurant provides an old world Spanish setting complete with a fountain.
